Product description

A timeless classic with powerful themes of exploration and discovery. We’re going on a bear hunt! Through the long wavy grass, the thick oozy mud and the swirling, whirling snowstorm. Rustle rustle! Splish splosh! Squelch! Will the family find a great big bear today? With heaps of noises to shout out loud and a huge surprise at the end, this lyrical story from former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen deserves to be a part of every childhood.

This bestseller supports the NLS at Key Stage 1 as:

  • a classic story with predictable and patterned language
  • an action rhyme
  • a story by a significant children’s author.

Also available: Read and Respond activities to accompany We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.

“A dramatic and comic masterpiece… Beautifully produced, written and illustrated, this is a classic.” The Independent on Sunday

    Timeless, fun classic.

A friend bought this book for my son years ago, she told me it was not to be read but sung. I said how do you sing a whole story book. She showed me a video of Micheal Rosen doing so. That book became a firm favourite and passed from my son to my daughter who at age 7 still loves it. What a fun way to spend time with children.

    Fantastic Book

Fabulous book for young children. Fantastic for pre schoolers as phrases are repeated throughout the book. Will also help those learning to read to remember repeat words.

Downside is you'll have the story stuck in your head for a while after reading :)
