Product description

Lily isn’t home ALONE – but she sort of wishes she was; looking after her three younger siblings is a lot of responsibility.

When Mum goes off on holiday with her new boyfriend and her stepdad fails to show up, Lily is determined to keep the family together and show they can cope without any grown-ups. But taking care of 6-year-old twins, her 3-year-old sister and the family’s flat feels overwhelming and Lily is worried that school or social services might discover their situation and break up the family. What could be better than to take all the little ones for a camping adventure in the park? Plenty of space to run about, no carpet to vacuum, and surely no chance anyone will guess they’re there . . .

Lily is stunned when her Mum goes away on holiday with her new boyfriend leaving Lily to take care of 6 year old twins, her 3 year old sister and their flat. Lily can’t do this all on her own but if she tells someone from school they will take her and her siblings to social services and they will never get to see their mum again! Then Lily has an idea, that they could camp in the park and nobody will never know the real reason!....

Lily is one of four children and she lives in a council flat. Her mum is twenty seven, young and pretty. So when she goes on holiday with her new boyfriend, its up to Lily to look after her three younger siblings. A difficult enough task, without nosy neighbors, prying teachers and the police… A gripping read, I couldn’t put it down

i absolutely love this book and i really enjoyed reading it. Lily reminds me of myself because i wish i was alone sometimes and it is great that this story is so detailed. I also love Jacqueline Wilson because in my opinion she is the best author ever and Nick Sharrat is the best writer. The book is so good that I have read it twice and i have enjoyed it so much i think i am going to read it again.

I think this is probably one of Jacqueline’s most amazing books ever, well it is one of my favourites. It is a heartwarming story about a very troubled family and when Lily’s pile of lies to her teacher and other people gets bigger and bigger. She finds her and her siblings living in a tree in a local park. If you like sadness, drama and love then this is definatly the book for you. I would rate it five stars and I hope you will too!!!

Lily’s mum isn’t very responsible and she goes off on holiday with a new man she meets, and even though Lily’s mum thinks Lily’s brother and sisters dad will take care of them, he doesn’t as Lily doesn’t like him so doesn’t phone him. Lily ends up taking her siblings camping in the park and looking after them. It’s a really good story and you can tell just how much Lily cares about her family and that she wants to keep them together.

This (amazing) novel is about an eleven year old girl called Lily. Her Mum seems to have depression, so Lily has to look after her younger siblings Bliss, Baxter and Pixie quite a lot. Lily feels very alone, but sometimes she prefers that.

Lily Alone really moved me. It was so emotional and when Lily and her brother and sisters went through all the troubles and trauma, you could just tell that the words had been well thought of, and the whole story in general just fitted together really well. It definitely isn’t the most original novel Jacqueline has written, but it was definitely the best. And I know that whenever I review her books, I say ‘it’s the best’ but this time I’m telling the absolute truth; Jacqueline’s books just get better and better every time.

My favourite character was Bliss, Lily’s sister. She was so sweet and cute, and she was very caring. My least favourite character was Mr Abbott, Lily’s teacher. Lily says she loves him, but to me he just seems like a horrible man who has nothing better to do than poke around in other peoples lives!

I recommend this fabulous novel to readers aged 9-16, and give it 5/5. This really is an incredibly moving story that stays with the reader long after the final page is turned.

Lily Aline is about Lily and how she looks after her brothers and sisters and acts like their mum. Lily’s mum has found a boyfriend or as we would say felle. She has decided to go to Spain with him and she accidently left the kids at home alone and now it’s Lily’s responsibility to look after hher and her family as one.
