The Summer We Turned Green
I must admit, the title put me off a bit. I really thought this book was going to be a bit preachy and predictable. It wasn't at all. The characters and the whole bizarre dysfunctional family thing really drew me in. The relationships and how they developed were really genuine. The descriptions of some of the characters and their obsessions were a bit odd and quite funny. The dad's behaviour was worse than the kids which made me laugh. By the time the characters got properly involved in the environmental campaign you were gripped and keen to know how the story would end.
