Product description
Lizzie refuses to speak. It’s as if she has a zip across her mouth. She doesn’t want to talk to anyone… and most definitely not her new stepbrothers and stepdad. But one day a member of her new family turns out to be even more stubborn than Lizzie is. Is the zip on her mouth about to be pulled open at last? This accessible, perfectly-observed story of divorce and life as a stepchild combines a big central theme with a short and easy text.
Winner of the Nestlé Smarties Gold Award and the Red House Children’s Book Award.

on 8 April 2014I think this book is truly amazing because it tells people that even if you’re scared, worried and don’t like someone you can still speak and not keep your mouth zipped at all times. when I heard the song little me by little mix I realized the chorus relates to this book: I’d tell her to speak up, tell her to shout out, Talk a bit louder, be a bit prouder, Tell her she’s beautiful, wonderful, Everything she doesn’t see,
You gotta speak up, you gotta shout out, And know that right here, right now, You can be beautiful, wonderful, Anything you wanna be, little me. I think its tell lizzie to speak up and know she can talk no matter how she feels. I think that songs kind of telling everyone a message. I'm not making any of this up so, READ IT!

on 9 March 2014This book shows the purpose of how another character would feel if they would of been hurt or disobeyed, however Lizzie is trying to get her mums attention to her and try to tell her that she might not fit on their family very well.

on 10 January 2013This book is short and sweet but still an amazing book by Jacqueline Wilson! It’s quite funny but sad as well. This book has been written well and is not too long either, I would say that it is the right length for the story. I would say that this book is for younger readers. Enjoy! X
